The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Kindle Edition, 337 pages
Published January 10th 2012 by Dutton Books

Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 13, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs… for now.

Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault.

Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind.

I don’t think this came as a surprise. It was by far the best book I’ve read in January. My friend Em surprised me by gifting it to me for my Kindle because she knew the libraries have a never ending waiting list for this one. Thans again, girl! 😀

~Honorable mentions go to:

House of Bathory by Linda Lafferty
This was the first book I read in January and it was a hit right away. I loved it and it was probably the second best book I read this month!

Layla’s Gale by Nicole Pouchet
This (together with Ceiba’s Grace) was a really good book that I enjoyed immensely. I’m so glad the author asked me to review it!

Blood Reunited by Amber Belldene
God, I loved this book. I can’t believe it’s the end already. But it was ended perfectly. Yay!

Enshadowed by Kelly Creagh
My god. How badly I want the third book in this series now! Enshadowed was amazing. Just as good as Nevermore!

You've read so many books this month! No surprise about The Faults in Our Stars, though. Even though I haven't read it, there is so much talk about it. I have to get my hands on a copy, soon.
