Throwback Thursday #28: Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise by Diantha Jones

Throwback Thursday is a bookish meme hosted every two weeks by me and Christina @ Booksane where we feature books that we’ve read in the past but are still crazy about. It could be a book you read as a child and still remember and love or maybe just a book that you haven’t read in a long time and want to show your love for.
Each week we’ll be featuring a new random question to answer!

Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise by Diantha Jones
Read from October 18 to 21, 2012

It’s official. Myth is doomed.

And it’s all Chloe Clever’s fault.

Still as whacked out as ever, Chloe is now faced with an even uglier truth: Not only is she the Pythia of the Great Unknown, but she is more powerful than she ever imagined and only the manifestations of her prophetic mind can save them all now.

With her Prince boyfriend, Strafford, and the Quad Fraternity always armed and ready to annihilate the opposition, she will embark on a mission to stop a great power that could consume every god in Myth…and everyone else she’s come to love.

But the worst is still to come.

Dark, painful secrets are revealed, threatening to tear Strafford from her arms, and just when she thinks the future could not look more grim, she is betrayed in the worst way.

With the heavens crumbling down around her, she must hurry to find a way to set things right. But will she be in time to save the one she loves most in the world from a fate that may be more dangerous than her own?

Ah, how I love this series. I keep saying this, but I will say it again: It’s my favorite Greek mythology series ever. It really is. The series just keeps getting better and better. I really like Diantha’s writing style, the characters and the prophecies. Haven’t read these books yet? Do it. NOW!

Quote:

“I am Hypnos,” he snarled, “the god of Sleep. Listen to me closely, Pythia, or suffer knowing that your brother died because you did not.”

So I couldn’t find any quotes online from this book so I picked a random line from the book. I think this makes for a very good teaser. Muhahaha! =D

Question of this week:

Picture time! Take a picture the book you’re reading right now anywhere you want.

I’m reading three books at the moment – House of Many Ways by Diana Wynne Jones, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll and City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare.

And as you can see my bunny, Ducky, has claimed them all for her own… but awww, look how cute she looks! My little baby!

Next question (July 10):
What’s your favorite book-to-movie adaptation?
