? My Bookish Resolutions for 2018  ?
It’s time for my first post of 2018!
I decided to make a post about my bookish resolutions. I don’t usually have too many of these but I do have a few that I want to try and accomplish this year.
~
#1. Goodreads Reading Challenge ► 100 books
In 2017 my goal was 117 books and I read 122. I don’t want to particularly read more than that in 2018. I’ll be happy if I reach 100 books.

#2. Read one Artemis Fowl book a month.
I always re-read the first Artemis Fowl book by Eoin Colfer and I always say I want to re-read the entire series but somehow I never do so this year I want to try to read one book in the series a month. There are only eight books in the series so I should have enough time in the whole year to do this.

#3. Read more nonfiction.
So in 2017 my most read genre was nonfiction. This was a bit of a surprise because I wasn’t really trying to read more books in this genre. I want to continue this in 2018.

#4. Read more historical fiction.
And this was my second most read genre of 2017. I also want to continue doing this in 2018. It probably won’t be very hard since it’s my favorite genre to read.

#5. Read more thrillers.
Now this was my least read genre in 2017, I think. It’s not because I don’t like thrillers because I really do but I just don’t know a lot that release through the years or even ones that are already releases. So if any of you have any recommendations I would really appreciate it!

#6. Read more physical books.
I already made this a resolution for me last year and I did read more physical books than e-books but I hope to read even more physical books this year. This is probably the hardest goal for me because I really like how easy e-books are to read and take along with me on trips but I shall do my best.

#7. Read more books when I buy them.
This is something I have really problems with. I tend to buy books and they’ll end up on my bookshelf for months or even years. I really want to try to just read a book as soon as I can when I buy it.

#8. Stick to a monthly TBR
Another goal that will be hard for me. I love setting up monthly books that I want to read but I almost never stick to them. Review books and being a mood reader is to blame for this. Hopefully I can stick to a TBR every month better this year.

So those are my bookish resolutions and goals for 2018. What are some of your resolutions?

  1. These are great resolutions! I also want to read more nonfiction in 2018. I participated in Nonfiction November, kind of on a whim, and now I have this huge TBR of nonfiction books! Good luck with you goals!

  2. I have the same problem with buying new books and then take forever to read them! Like, I preordered Godsgrave but I'm only now picking it up (instead of the books I just got :p ) Good luck and happy reading!

  3. I'm also trying to read more Nonfiction this year. I have a lot of really good Nonfiction books sitting on my shelves that I just haven't picked up yet. Good luck with your goals!!

  4. TERRIFIC resolutions, Steph! I can really relate to most of them, but ESPECIALLY Number 7!!!! I do this ALL the time — buy books that I fully intend to read, but….not just yet, because I'm in the middle of OTHER books! Lol. I think most of us bookworms can relate to this. We just get SO desperate not to let "that great book I just found" get away…. 🙂

I admire you for having a goal of reading at least 100 books! I'm a slow reader, so I KNOW I could never read that many in a year, lol. Last year, I read 40, which, believe me, is a bit much for me. Not that I had any sort of goal, lol. I never set goals on how many books I want to read in a year. 🙂

    Thanks for sharing! Happy reading in 2018!! HUGS!! <3 <3 <3 🙂 🙂 🙂

    • I'm a little doubtful about my goal this year because in the last 3 or so years I have always read about 20 less books than the previous year so I'm not sure I can make it to 100, especially since I know I'll read a few books that'll be pretty big like the 4th Outlander book. But we'll see… xD

  5. P.S. Regarding resolution No. 4, I want to read more historical fiction, too. As for No. 5, I want to read more science fiction. I'm not into thrillers that much. Suspense maybe, though! 🙂

  6. Can I steal your resolutions?
As they seem to be perfect for me, too 😉
I want to achieve so many of those. Especially reaching my Goodreads reading challenge, read more physical books, and read more books when I buy them.
I also totally support your Artemis Fowel resolution as I love this series and I've also been wanting to re-read it for forever now (!).
