Top Ten Tuesday: Hidden Gems

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic:Hidden Gems

This is actually one of my favorite bookish topics to talk about because I do read a lot of books that could be considered hidden gems. However, I decided to focus on hidden gems that I’ve read this year so far because otherwise I wouldn’t know where to start.

A nonfiction and self help book that resonated deeply with me. It’s also my third favorite book of the year overall. {Review}

The Mermaid by Christina Henry
Historical fiction. Fantasy. The Little Mermaid retelling. P.T. Barnum. Do I need to say more? It was magical!

Twilight Empress by Faith L. Justice
A story about a powerful yet little-known woman in history. One of my top favorites of the year! {Review}

Amanda Noble, #Zoolife by Lesa Boutin
A fun yet suspenseful and hilarious read. Audibook version (the one I listened to) is highly recommended! {Review}

Ecstasy by Mary Sharratt
A historical fiction about female composer Alma Mahler set in turn-of-the-twentieth-century Vienna. And my second favorite book of the year. 😉 {Review}

Illegal by Eoin Colfer and Andrew Donkin
A super relevant story for the day and age we live in right now with beautiful illustrations.

Lily of the Nile by Stephanie Dray
The story of Cleopatra’s daughter Selene written by one of my favorite historical fiction writers. It also has a dash of magic! {Review}

Women Breaker by Avie Adams
This is probably one of the most “hidden” hidden gems out there. It’s in the dark fantasy/romance genre so of course totally my thing. I definitely wish more people knew about this book and series. {Review}

Survival of the Richest by Skye Warren
My latest favorite book by Skye Warren who is one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. Spanking in a library might be involved. 😉 {Review}

Breakaway by Michelle Diener
A scifi adventure with a badass female character, swoony hero and amazing world building. I always enoy Michelle’s books. {Review}

    You have just reminded me that I have #Zoolife on my TBR. I added it after reading your review and I think it sounds amazing. The Mermaid is another one that I should check out as well. 🙂
