Hello everyone!
For today’s post I thought I’d feature my top five favorite books of 2020 so far. It’ll be fun to see how and if it will change by the end of the year.
So here we go!

My top five favorite books of 2020 so far
(in no particular order)
We Demand The Right To Vote: The Journey to the 19th Amendment by Meneese Wall
This was an amazing and surprising historical nonfiction about the women who fought for the right to vote in The United States. It’s also beautifully illustrated! I still have to post my review of it but it’s coming real soon.
Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare
This one also ended up as a surpirsing read because I was worried that after so many Shadowhunter books it would get old but it obviously didn’t. In fact, I consider it now to be one of my favorite Shadowhunter books next to TID.
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
I randomly picked this up as an audiobook because I didn’t know what else to read and it ended up as one of my favorite books ever. I very rarely rate audiobooks with five stars so this is a really special book to me now.
House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
You never really know what you’re getting with a SJM book. I’ve disliked some of her books in the past so I’m always a little critical when picking up a new one but this latest book of hers was amazing. Now it’s my favorite book of hers out of them all.
Blue by Brynn Ford
Just thinking about this beautiful books makes me emotional. Brynn Ford is a reasonably new author so I’ve only read one other books of hers, which I loved as well but nothing compared to how I feel about this one. All I can think about is the heart emoji x a million times!
So that’s my top five so far. I wonder if it’ll change by the end of December. I think it will but you never really know.

Have you read any of these books?
What are your favorite reads of 2020 so far?
I haven’t read any of these, but I love the variety in there!
Hahaha yes. A little bit of fantasy, a little of contemporary and a little nonfiction 😀
It’s the best when you randomly pick something and it’s brilliant! Also, the cover for Sorcery of Thorns is just gorgeous!
I read the audiobook but someone gifted me the Fairyloot edition and it’s even prettier! ♥
I am so happy that both SJM and Cassandra Clare are still producing great content! Both of these books are on Olivia’s tbr and I know that she is nervous that they might not stand up to the other series. I think that I need to add some audiobooks to my schedule as well. I hope that you find many more to add to your list in the coming months. 😉
If anything, SJM and CC are getting better and better as time goes on! 😀
I’m happy you enjoyed House of Earth and Blood, I couldn’t get into it, but I also couldn’t get into ToG so I think her books are just a hit or miss for me
I’m still on book 2 of the Shadowhunters series, now I’m too intimidated by how many books there are to continue!
These all look great! Sorcery of Thorns sounds particularly amazing! ?
Great list! Sorcery of Thorns and House of Earth and Blood are definitely some of my favorite reads of 2020 so far as well. I really want to read Chain of Gold, but I’m trying to wait so I can binge the entire series when it’s out (I won’t succeed because I don’t have the patience, but for now we’ll see how long I’ll last 🙂 )
So, sadly, I haven’t read any of these… I do own a few though! 😉 I’m glad you put them on here–it makes me want to read them sooner!
Chain of Gold is also one of my favorite books I read so far this year ?
I MUST read Sorcery of Thorns, I can’t believe I haven’t read it yet. And I’m intrigued by We Demand the Right to Vote. Sounds like a very timely read!
