Monthly Wrap-Up — August 2020

Posted August 28, 2020 by Stephanie in wrap up / 19 Comments

A slightly early wrap-up this month. I know I won’t finish another book before the month is out so I thought why not post it already. I had a couple of amazing 5 star reads this month and I’m really happy about those. Not a bad way to end August with.

Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin — 4/5★
Murder in the Place of Anubis by Lynda Robinson — 3/5★ (my review)
The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden (audiobook) — 3.5/5★

The Devil’s Highway by Gregory Norminton — 4.5/5★ (my review)
The Sea Witch by Katee Robert — 4/5★ (my review)
The Stars of Heaven by Jessica Dall — 5/5★ (my review)

Blood Water Paint by Joy McCullough — 5/5★ (my review)
Thicker Than Water by Tyler Shultz (audiobook) — 5/5★
Life Ever After by Carla Grauls (audiobook) — 4/5★

Only Dull People Are Brilliant at Breakfast by Oscar Wilde — 4/5★
Unfettered Journey by Gary F. Bengier — DNF
A Grown-Up Guide to Dinosaurs by Ben Garrod — 4/5★

How many books did you read in August and what was your favorite out of them?

  1. Looks like you had a great reading month! I also loved Serpent and Dove and I’be been meaning to listen to The Bear and the Nightingale on audio as well 🙂 Also, the Katee Roberts series has been on my TBR for a while, so glad to hear you enjoyed this installment as well! Now I just need to start it haha 🙂

Nice genre variety for August! My favorite book of August was Today Tonight Tomorrow (contemporary YA) closely followed by Rebel Spy (historical YA fiction). I also read a few graphic novels and picture books that I really enjoyed.
