The artist weaves the wealth of her experience into each line, celebrating the magic of human emancipation, as it breaks the spell of survival and allows us to experience the infinite possibilities of life.
Once upon my tale, there was a fairy
Till you broke her spell on my mind
You’re the melody that set me free
The sound of the broken wand
I’m not going to pretend I know a whole lot about poetry but I do know that I like reading it. I either connect with certain poetry or I don’t. So I’m really glad to say that I absolutely connected with this poetry collection. It was genuinely beautiful! I read it in one sitting because I couldn’t put my e-reader down, I just had to finish it. And those are the best kind of books, aren’t they?
There were six main chapters: The Blood, The Cage, The Crown, The Mirror, The Wand, The Shoe. And those six chapters each have four poems. I really enjoyed this format! I also loved how music was also a part of the poetry collection, making it all the more unique.
The Sound of the Broken Wand by Tiki Black is a beautiful poetry collection where music and poems get weaved together to create this one of a kind piece of art.
