Welcome to my top 10 of 2022!

Today’s post is about my ten favorite authors that were new to me this year. This was pretty hard to do because I’ve read many new authors but these below are the ones that stuck the most with me.

Grady Hendrix, author of My Best Friend’s Exorcism

New York Times bestselling author Grady Hendrix makes up lies and sells them to people. His novels include HORRORSTÖR about a haunted IKEA, MY BEST FRIEND’S EXORCISM, which is basically “Beaches” meets “The Exorcist”.

Megan Edwards, author of A Coin for the Ferryman

Megan Edwards is the award-winning author of FULL SERVICE BLONDE, GETTING OFF ON FRANK SINATRA, and STRINGS: A LOVE STORY. All three novels were first-place winners of Benjamin Franklin book awards in 2018.

Ali Hazelwood, author of The Love Hypothesis

Ali Hazelwood is a multi-published author—alas, of peer-reviewed articles about brain science, in which no one makes out and the ever after is not always happy.

Laurie (L.C.) Lewis, author of The Letter Carrier

Laurie (L.C.) Lewis will always be a Marylander at heart—a weather-whining lover of crabs, American history, and the sea.

Mark McPherson, author of The Conquest of Foy

The youngest of three hearing children with deaf parents, a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults). Mark discovered a love for history and historical fiction in the late-1990s while out for a walk in the English Midlands, stumbling on the location of Richard III’s death in battle in Bosworth.

Eva Leigh, author of The Good Girl’s Guide to Rakes

Eva Leigh is a USA Today romance author who has always loved romance. She writes novels chock-full of determined women and men who are here for it. She enjoys baking, spending too much time on the Internet, and listening to music from the ’80s.

Joyce Tyldesley, author of Tutankhamon — Pharaoh, Icon, Enigma

Joyce is professor of Egyptology in the Department of Classics, Ancient History, Archaeology and Egyptology (CAHAE), within the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures.

Lana Popović Harper, author of Payback’s a Witch

Lana is the New York Times bestselling author of Payback’s A Witch and the forthcoming From Bad to Cursed from Berkley Books. Writing as Lana Popovic, she is also the author of YA novels Wicked Like a Wildfire, Fierce Like a Firestorm, Blood Countess, and Poison Priestess.

Dan Franklin, author of The Eater of Gods

Dan Franklin wrote his first attempt at a horror novel when he was seven. It was terrible. He has, since, improved.
The winner of several local awards for short stories and an occasional poem, Dan Franklin lives in Maryland with his extremely understanding wife, his cosmically radiant daughter, and a socially crippling obsession with things that creep.

Damian Dibben, author of The Color Storm

Damian Dibben is an acclaimed British author whose novels have been translated into twenty-seven languages and published in over forty countries. His series The History Keepers was an international publishing phenomenon.
