While Mercy endures a dangerous trial, Arlo wrestles his inner demons. When his sanity shatters, and all hope seems lost, they’re forced to come to terms with the reality of imminent death. On the brink of ruin, a rebellion emerges. Mercy and Arlo find a renewed will to fight as they learn the real story of Ember Glen.

★★★★★ “I’m in awe of what Ford has crafted with this series, everything so vividly depicted, and Ember Glen is simply a work of art.” – Justine, Amazon Review –

MERCY
Death has always been chasing me, and I fear it’s finally caught up.

If this trial doesn’t end my life, it will surely take my mind.
And nothing could have prepared me for the despair yet to come.

Though everything seems hopeless, my love for Arlo remains constant. A part of me wants to give up and fade away with him. But secrets are being kept, and though I never expected to live long enough to learn the truth, a brewing rebellion might be the end of it all.

If Arlo and I are going down in flames, at least we can burn Ember Glen down with us.

ARLO
The end of everything approaches, and I’ve never felt so lost.

I’m sickened by the trial Mercy is forced to endure.
If I could complete it in her stead, I would trade places with her in a heartbeat.

I can’t do anything for her, and it wrecks my soul. My sanity is shattered, and I lose all control. And though my actions draw death nearer, its imminence inspires boldness. When we finally discover the truth, we have nothing left to lose.

One way or another, Mercy and I will end this—either everything will change, or we’ll leave this place burning in our wake.

Embers of Mercy is the final book in the Ember Glen Trilogy and I couldn’t have imagined a better ending for it. The books were dark and unsettling to say the least but they’re a must-read nontheless. The parallel between the books and our world today in relation to women’s rights was harrowing but important to notice.

Mercy and Arlo went through the worst of the worst throughout the trilogy and especially this book was hard for the both of them. I can’t believe how much growth Arlo went from book one until this finale, it was so huge. Arlo’s love for Mercy and vice versa made him an entirely different and better person. I loved to see it. Mercy equally went through quite a change and I can only admire her strength and courage to stand up to the men of Ember Glen.

I don’t want to give too much away about the conclusion but we finally got answers about how Ember Glen originally came to be. It was quite disturbing to read about since once again I could see the correlation between this story and how some of it is playing out right now in our real world. But that’s what makes this trilogy so amazing and important to read.

My only wish was for a little more Delle in the book. I get why she wasn’t in it so much but I still missed her because Delle is one of my favorite characters. Other than that Embers of Mercy was a fantastic page-turner that I read in only two days, I was hooked that much!

About the author:

Brynn Ford writes dark romance for daring readers. She is a lover of the dark, twisted, and playful, and strives to bring these elements into her stories.

When she isn’t obsessively writing, you may find her binge-watching favorite shows while eating far too much junk food or fanatically reading, always seeking to lose herself in the emotional roller coaster of a damn good story.

She’s a firm believer that her characters continue to live outside the pages in the minds of her readers. Stories don’t end just because there aren’t any more pages to turn.
