Travel through the United Kingdom and explore its beauty with me!
My book consists of 75 chapters, one for each city. Each section consists of three a little preview, which aims to quickly familiarize you with the city and provide the most interesting facts about it; history – the most important historical events; and, of course, tourist places – the best attractions with short descriptions and bright photos.

The book suits everyone – an avid historian or an equally avid traveller. The motto I put into my work is “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. So, I want to show and prove that every city in the United Kingdom – big or small, old or new, famous or not – deserves attention. Every city is beautiful in its way. I want to teach you to see this beauty.

Please note, that due to the book’s format, the best devices to read it are tablets and e-readers.

Britannia: a Modern Guide Through the Ancient Kingdom by Glafira Regina Osypets was an excellent travel guide. Along with illustrations and photographs the book takes its reader on a fascinating journey through 75 cities of the UK. History through the ages, interesting facts and the best tourist places to visit, this book has it all!

I loved how the author has divided this book with a little preview and facts about the city, the history and its most important dates (which can go from the Paleolithic to modern times), interesting and historical places to visit, museums, outdoor, churches and/or cathedrals. Basically the perfect guide to learn more about the UK, especially if you plan on visiting any of these cities. I, for sure, will use this book if I ever plan on visiting which I really want to do someday.

The illustrations and photographs are very much a fantastic bonus to me. It’s just lovely to see the coat of arms of the various cities (one of my top favorites of this book!), along with pictures of the tourist places, like the museums, churches, the outdoors and more. It’s an easy to read book for sure and I could hardly put it down, devouring it in no time at all.

I couldn’t recommend Britannia: a Modern Guide Through the Ancient Kingdom enough. It has a little bit for everyone. If you’re interested in history (whether it’s ancient or more modern), the United Kingdom in general or just the touristic attractions then you will enjoy this book. It was a highly fascinating and impressive book that’s worth a read!
