Mind Openers
One of the greatest things about reading nonfiction is learning all kinds of things about our world which you never would have known without it. There’s the intriguing, the beautiful, the appalling, and the profound. What nonfiction book or books have impacted the way you see the world in a powerful way? Is there one book that made you rethink everything? Do you think there is a book that should be required reading for everyone? (Rebekah)
I really love Audible’s Great Courses books. They have audiobooks of educational lectures on various topics like history, science, literature, religion, well-being, entertainment and more. Here are some of my favorites of this year!
Lost Art: The Stories of Missing Masterpieces by Noah Carney
Early Humans: Ice, Stone, and Survival by Suzanne Pilaar Birch
Classics of Horror: Frankenstein, Dracula, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by James Krasner
History of Science: Antiquity to 1700 by Lawrence M. Principe
Hannibal: The Military Genius Who Almost Conquered Rome by Eva MacDonald
Serial Killers: Real and Imagined by Emily Zarka
The Real History of Dracula by Sara Cleto and Brittany Warman
Greek Tragedy by Elizabeth Vandiver
I know you’ve talked about Great Courses before. They definitely seem like a great way to learn new things😁
Because I’m obsessed with them. There’s just so many of them!
It’s really amazing how much information is out there, topics and ways to access it for everyone!
I need to check out Audible’s Great Courses, they do seem to have an amazing selection!
Sounds great, thank you for the tip. I enjoy reading books that teach you something along the way.
I used to get the catalog for The Great Courses, and so many of the topics were so fascinating. How wonderful that you listen to these! I’m inspired by you. 🙂
I really love them! 😀
