This week’s topic:
Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2021
I’ve gotta say this was a pretty hard top ten to make because there are a lot of books releasing in 2021, especially in the first half but eventually I did settle on ten books and here they are.
We Are the Ashes, We Are the Fire by Joy McCullough, coming February 9, 2021
In 2020 I read another book by this author named Blood Water Paint, which ended up as one of my favorite books of the year so when I saw she’s releasing a new book in February I put it on my wishlist as soon as I could.
A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas, coming February 16, 2021
I’m not a fan of the cover at all but I love the series so I’m going to try to overlook it. It’s book four in the series and I’m more than ready for Nesta’s book. I just can’t wait to see and read about all my favorite characters again!
Wicked All Night by Jeaniene Frost, coming February 23, 2021
This is the third and final book in the Night Rebel series. The final book is always sad but I’m so glad we got this series about Veritas and Ian. And hopefully side characters from the other series will make appearances as well.
Kingdom of Shadow and Light by Karen Marie Moning, coming February 23, 2021
I already featured this in a previous CWW post so this might be a familiar book to those who frequently visit my blog. I’m still both excited and terrified for this final Fever series book but I trust that the author will make it worthwhile.
Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare, coming march 2, 2021
I’ve just been dying to get my hands on this sequel to Chain of Gold. Still gotta wait a little while but I’m very sure it will be worth it since I absolutely loved the first book. Also I’m sure Cassie Clare will make me cry. Again.
The Rose Code by Kate Quinn, coming march 9, 2021
This new upcoming book by Kate Quinn is a must-buy for me. She’s my favorite historical fiction author so I’m extremely excited for this newest one. So excited!
Greek Mythology by Liv Albert, coming March 16, 2021
This is probably my most anticipated book of the year. I love all things about Greek mythology but even better than that this book is written by my favorite podcaster; Liv from Let’s Talk About Myths, Baby! I CANNOT WAIT!
The Women of Chateau Lafayette by Stephanie Dray, March 30, 2021
This is another book from a favorite historical fiction author of mine. I’ve been reading Stephanie’s books for years so it goes without saying that I’ll be buying this one too. And if I know her well enough I know it’s going to be another big book.
Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo, coming March 30, 2021
Finally, finally finally the sequel to King of Scars will be coming out at the end of March. I read the first book in March of 2019 so it’s been two years. This book is desperately needed!
Ariadne by Jennifer Saint, coming April 29, 2021
This is a Greek mythology retelling and if you know me well then you know that I’m super into myth retellings so this one is a super highly anticipated book. I’m super curious about it and I want it now!

What do you think of these books? Are any of them also on your most anticipated books of 2021 list? If not, what are some that are on it?
Great list! Rule of Wolves made my list this week, too, and I’m very intrigued by Ariadne.
I’m crossing my fingers that Ariadne will be as good as I hope it will be.
Yes to The Rose Code!
Yaaaa! ?
Oooh, I’d never heard of that mythology podcast, but I definitely think I’m going to have to check it out! I LOVE mythology! I hadn’t heard of Ariadne, either, but that’s another I’m going to have to add to my list. Great picks!
Here’s my TTT post.
I cannot recommend Let’s Talk About Myths Baby high enough. Seriously!
Ohh Chain of Iron is definitely on my list!
Happy reading!
I’m aching to get my hands on that book!
I’m intrigued by We Are the Ashes, We are the Fire, I love the cover and it sounds so good!
I have SUCH high expectations for that one!
Oooh, the Dray book looks and sounds really good. I’ve never even heard of her before, so thanks for the heads-up!
Happy TTT!

If you wanna check out Stephanie Dray I would also highly recommend the historical fiction books she wrote with Laura Kamoie: America’s First Daughter & My Dear Hamilton. SO good!
A Court of Sliver Flames and Rule of Wolves are on my list as well.
I’m so excited for both books!
We Are the Ashes, We Are the Fire is such a great title.
My post.
I know, right? ?
I’m still making my way through the Night Huntress series but I already can’t wait to reach Ian’s story!
OMG, I actually recently started the Let’s Talk About Myths Baby podcast (I’m about 5-6 episodes in) and I love them, so it’s super exciting that she wrote her own book! Definitely checking that one out.
Also, I didn’t know about Ariadne, but it’s going on the TBR, OF COURSE 🙂
And naturally, I’m also super excited for A Court of Silver Flames and Rule of Wolves!
We’ve had to wait so long for Ian’s books. JF said she wouldn’t write them but eventually she couldn’t resist ?
YAY! I’m a super fan of Let’s Talk About Myths Baby. I’m so excited you started listening, her episodes just get better and better!
A Court of Silver Flames, Ariadne and Rule of Wolves were all on my list this week too. I totally agree, A Court of Silver Flames’ cover is ugly, I’m going to be reading it in audio though, so won’t have that problem!
That’s a good plan! ?
Greek Mythology looks great—and now I have a new podcast to check out, so thank you!
Let’s Talk About Myths Baby is really my favorite podcast ever!
Some of the best things about new year and end of year lists are all the new books I find! And yeah, theSe gems are all new to me!
Any that stand out to you? 😀
The Greek mythology title – that cover! And aviaduer – lam curious about the retelling, even tho I have the worst luck when it comes to them!
Blood Water Paint was SUCH a good book. I’m curious about her new one!
-Lauren
YES! I’m very curious and excited about her upcoming one. Sounds like it’s once again gonna be a heavy topic.
The Women of Chateau Layfayette sounds interesting, will have to check that one out!
I’m always super excited to get the newest Stephanie Dray book. I’m almost sure it’s gonna be a 5 star book.
I’ve added it to my wish list, and love the premise.
I have been very intrigued by The Women of Chateau Lafayette and the fact that you have enjoyed the author’s other books has me really excited! I need to see if I still have time to request a review copy. I hope that you love all of these, Stephanie!
Omigosh… Cassandra Clare. Literally. Cannot. Wait!
Kate Quinn, LeighBardugo, Cassandra Clare are also on my list!
I’m gonna die when I get all their books in my hands ?
So happy I read this post because it is great to know that Joy McCullough has another book coming out! I am going to make sure to read that one now too.
My precious lovelies! Ariadne, Greek Mythology by Liv Albert, Rule of Wolves AND A Court of Silver Flames… And I remember you mentioning Moning before. Sigh. I just got started on my TBR, and now there’s more.
