Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet

Let’s Talk About Myths, Baby!

“Let’s Talk About Myths, Baby! is a Greek and Roman Mythology Podcast. But it’s not your average mythology podcast, this one is told by a 30-something Millennial with a penchant for cursing and a feminist attitude. The stories are deeply researched, thoroughly told, and they don’t hold back on the details that have been sugarcoated and treated with kid gloves over the millennia. Myths of the ancient world are examined through a modern intersectional feminist lens, focusing where possible on amplifying the voices of women, trans, and non-binary people.”

The Alarmist

“They say history repeats itself… not on The Alarmist’s watch. The Plague. The sinking of The Titanic. The Donner Party disaster. The break-up of the Beatles. Writer/performer Rebecca Delgado-Smith (The Good Place) and guests scrutinize history’s greatest disasters to figure out what went wrong, and, most importantly, who’s to blame.”

Voices For Justice

“Voices for Justice is a true crime podcast hosted by Sarah Turney. Season One explores the story of Sarah’s sister, missing teen, Alissa Turney. In 2020, an arrest was made in Alissa’s case and Season One was paused. While Alissa’s case is pending, Sarah has gone on to cover other cases in need of justice.”

Ancient History Fangirl

“An ancient history podcast run by two Millennial women. Misbehaving emperors, poison assassins, mythological mayhem; it’s like if Hardcore History met up with My Favorite Murder in the ancient world, with a heavy helping of booze and laughter.”

Sweetbitter

“Sweetbitter is an investigative history podcast with a focus on queer & women’s history. Each season, we explore a different corner of history, using literary works or historical figures as a starting point to discuss a broader story of erasure of people with marginalized identities. We collaborate with experts to bring these stories to a modern audience. Along with the listener, we try to untangle stories tainted by years of homophobia, colonization, and patriarchy erasing and rewriting history. The first season covers Sappho, the second season covers pirates and the third season covers christianity and the bible.”

Myths and Legends podcast

“Ever wonder about the original stories behind King Arthur and his legendary knights, Robin Hood, or Aladdin? Did you know that fairy tales weren’t originally for children and are way more bizarre, ridiculous, and interesting than you ever thought possible? Maybe you’ve heard of characters like Thor, Odin, and Hercules from modern movies- stories stretching back centuries. Well, the originals that inspired the adaptations are even better. This show brings you folklore that has shaped our world. Some are incredibly popular stories you think you know, but with surprising origins. Others are stories that might be new to you, but are definitely worth a listen. These are stories of magic, kings, Vikings, dragons, knights, princesses, and wizards from a time when the world beyond the map was a dangerous, wonderful, and terrifying place.”

Spotify | iTunes | Stitcher

Crime Weekly

“Join retired police detective and private investigator Derrick Levasseur and true crime Youtube creator Stephanie Harlowe as they discuss the crimes making headlines while also taking a deeper look into cases that have fascinated them both personally and professionally. They’ll give plenty of insight and safety tips along the way to help make sure that no listener becomes the subject of the next episode….”
