Nonfiction November is finally here again! This is my third year participating and once again I’m so excited to share all the nonfiction love with you all. 💖
My Year In Nonfiction
Take a look back at your year of nonfiction and reflect on the following questions
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE NONFICTION READ OF THE YEAR?
The War That Made the Roman Empire: Antony, Cleopatra, and Octavian at Actium by Barry Strauss
I had been highly anticipating Barry Strauss’ new book (I think it had been three years since his last??) and I had hoped to enjoy it of course but I hadn’t expected to love it as much as I did. It was simply outstanding!
DO YOU HAVE A PARTICULAR TOPIC YOU’VE BEEN ATTRACTED TO MORE THIS YEAR?
Drop Dead Dangerous: The Lethal Attraction of Road Trip Killer, Paul John Knowles by Ryan Green
History nonfiction is still my favorite but this year I’ve been trying to branch out a bit with reading more true crime and memoirs.
WHAT NONFICTION BOOK HAVE YOU RECOMMENDED THE MOST?
I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
This was a memoir I started in the spur of the moment because I had been hearing great things about it and I ended up really enjoying it. It wasn’t for the faint of heart, obviously, but it was very gripping.

WHAT ARE YOU HOPING TO GET OUT OF PARTICIPATING IN NONFICTION NOVEMBER?
My answer to this question is yet again a simple one. I hope to discover more nonfiction bloggers and of course more nonfiction books to add to my TBR.

Are you participting in Nonfiction November too?
Have you read any of the books I mentioned?
I’m glad the Strauss book lived up to your expectations! Thanks for the rec’s
I’m glad too! 😀
Poor Jennette McCurdy. She went through so much as a child.
So horrible! 🙁
I see Jennette McCurdy’s book everywhere! It sounds like a powerful read.
I listened to the audiobook because it’s narrated by her but would also love a physical copy sometime!
I just finished I Am Glad My Mom Died and was enthralled. She went through so much, but it seems like writing is her real talent.
I hope she’ll write more in the future if she wants, whether it’s nonfiction or fiction
I’m Glad My Mom Died sounds like such a powerful, if tough, read!
It really was. Packed quite the punch!
Your favorite sounds fascinating. I also read some history, but not that old.
I have a couple of favorites: https://wordsandpeace.com/2022/11/02/nonfiction-november-my-year-2022-in-nonfiction/
I’d not heard of Barry Strauss, but he sounds like an author I should check out! I’ve heard really good things about I’m Glad My Mom Died too 🙂
I love his books so much!
Looks good. The Roman Empire is a never ending source of interesting history. I want to read McCurdy’s book as well. It seems many people are fascinated by serial killers, but they are not for me. I also enjoy to see what other bloggers are reading and to be inspired.
Lovely to see you back again!
I never read non fiction books (aside Becoming) but I probably should Stephanie!
You know I have all the recommendations 😛
I’m sorry I’ve missed so many of your posts. I just checked my email and the last new post notification I got was back on 10/26😥 Not sure why I’m not getting them anymore. Trying to catch up now!
